Emily Brooks
Paralegal Consultant
Emily Brooks is a highly experienced paralegal whose case management, organizational skills, and trial support have helped attorneys achieve successful results for clients in complex state and federal matters. With more than 22 years of paralegal experience, Emily brings depth, consistency, and reliability to every case she supports.
Emily earned her ABA-Approved Paralegal Certificate and her Bachelor of Legal Studies from Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia. She has worked alongside several prominent trial lawyers in the Atlanta area, spending the majority of her career with noted trial attorney and legal analyst Page Pate at the law firm of Pate, Johnson & Church. Following Mr. Pate’s unexpected passing in 2022, Emily continued her work with Page’s law partner, Attorney Tom Church, at the Church Law Firm, helping maintain the high standards and thorough case preparation that defined the practice.
Across both firms, Emily’s responsibilities have included:
• Organizing, indexing, and reviewing extensive discovery productions in complex state and federal criminal cases
• Managing overall case files and coordinating day-to-day case operations
• Providing hearing and trial support, including assistance with voir dire preparation
• Creating and presenting digital, audio, and video exhibits for courtroom use
• Overseeing office administration, bookkeeping, and Human Resources functions
Although Emily began her career in business law, she quickly discovered her passion for supporting the defense of individuals facing serious criminal charges. She has extensive experience assisting attorneys with:
• Federal criminal matters, including drug conspiracies, trafficking, labor/human trafficking, and financial crimes
• Cases involving allegations of child molestation
• Issues involving Georgia and federal hemp laws
• State forfeiture matters
• Other high-stakes or complex criminal litigation
Working closely with some of Georgia’s most respected criminal defense attorneys, Emily has developed a deep understanding of the demands of serious criminal practice and the level of organization and precision required to support it effectively. Regardless of the case type, Emily is committed to helping attorneys deliver the strongest possible representation to their clients. She approaches every project with professionalism, discretion, and the goal of making each attorney’s practice more efficient, organized, and trial-ready.
Emily is a member of the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL), the Georgia Association of Paralegals (GAP), and the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA).
